The secret to happiness

I like this article. I've often thought that too many people just don't take time to enjoy the simple, small pleasures of life. This study found that "cost-free" activities brought more pleasure than buying stuff. Having spent a life time as a single parent on a tight budget, I can certainly attest to that. But more importantly, I think taking time to enjoy the company of your family and friends is paramount to happiness. We get all wrapped up in having material things and fretting over the things that we don't have and we just simply forget to savor the things that we do have.

I've spent the last two months making Christmas presents for my family. None of them are real expensive. All are hand made needle crafts of some kind. But I've enjoyed it immensely and it really puts Christmas in a different perspective for me. I had gotten to where I dreaded Christmas because it was so expensive and such a hassle, trying to find time to shop, wrap, go...but this year has been fun. Next year, I plan to start making gifts right after New Years!

I accidentally deleted myself

Haste makes waste!! I was on an old blog for work that I intended to delete, so I hit the sign in button and hit delete. Should have looked closer. It logged me into a different account, my personal blog, and now 3 years of blogging is gone. Darn. Guess I'll have a clean slate to start over with.
